ROOTS AND WINGS

“Roots and Wings” is a phrase often used to describe the balance between providing strong foundations and support (roots) and   promoting   self-reliance and personal growth (wings).  Often associated with upbringing and education, it   emphasizes the importance of stability and freedom in personal   upbringing and advancement.

Roots represent the foundation, stability and grounding needed to feel secure and connected.  These   include belonging, family, culture, values   and traditions.  Rooting   requires creating a safe and supportive environment, instilling core values   and fostering a sense of identity and stability.

“Wings” symbolize your ability to explore, take risks, and grow beyond your comfort zone. It is   concerned   with personal freedom, independence, self-discovery, and the pursuit of personal goals and aspirations. Nurturing wings means encouraging curiosity, fostering autonomy, fostering personal growth, and providing opportunities for exploration and self-expression.

The root   and   wing concept recognizes the importance of stability and self-reliance   to human development.  A healthy and balanced approach is to build strong foundations and support systems (roots) while giving individuals freedom and encouragement (wings) to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
